Ivan Scalfarotto

Ivan Scalfarotto is an Italian politician and activist currently serving as a member of the Senate of the Republic. A prominent figure in the liberal-centrist political landscape, he previously served as a deputy in the Chamber of Deputies and held several government roles, including Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Known for his advocacy on civil rights and LGBT equality, Scalfarotto was a founding member of the movement iMille and has been a vocal proponent of meritocracy and secularism in public life. Before his full-time political career, he worked in the banking sector for institutions such as Citigroup.
