Jérôme Baloge

Jérôme Baloge is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Niort since 2014. A graduate of Sciences Po Bordeaux and the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, he previously worked as a territorial director at ERDF and taught history at the École des hautes études internationales et politiques. Politically, he is known for his social-Gaullist roots and his support for Emmanuel Macron. During his tenure as mayor, he notably implemented free public transportation in the Niort urban area and has taken firm stances on security and urban management. He was re-elected for a third term in 2026.
