Jahel Quiroga Carrillo

Jahel Quiroga Carrillo is a Colombian politician, industrial engineer, and human rights activist who has served as a Senator of Colombia since July 2022. A survivor of the political extermination efforts against the Patriotic Union in the 1980s, she founded the NGO Reiniciar in 1993 to document human rights violations and assist victims. Throughout her career, she has been a prominent advocate for justice, serving on the international board of the World Organisation Against Torture and representing victims before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. She was elected to the Senate as part of the Historic Pact coalition.
