James O'Connor is an Irish politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Cork East constituency since 2020. Born in 1997, he previously served as a member of the Cork County Council from 2019 to 2020. Upon his re-election to the Dáil in 2024, he was appointed as the Cathaoirleach of the Committee on Enterprise, Tourism and Employment. O'Connor, who comes from a farming background, gained national attention in 2025 for his public criticism of Fianna Fáil party leader Micheál Martin.
