James Patrick Rigby is an American politician serving as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 71st district, a position he has held since 2019. Before his legislative career, Rigby served for 24 years on the Ferndale Borough Council, including six years as council president. He also worked as a police officer and served as the chief of police in Ferndale starting in 2015. A graduate of Ferndale Area High School, he attended the police academy at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center. Rigby has consistently won reelection to the state house, representing parts of Cambria and Somerset counties.
