Jamie Raskin is an American politician, attorney, and law professor serving as the U.S. Representative for Maryland's 8th congressional district since 2017. A prominent progressive, he previously served in the Maryland State Senate from 2007 to 2016. Raskin is widely recognized for his role as the lead impeachment manager during the second impeachment of Donald Trump and his work on the House Select Committee investigating the January 6 Capitol attack. Before entering politics, he was a constitutional law professor at American University Washington College of Law, where he co-founded the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. He continues to advocate for democratic reforms, civil rights, and the separation of church and state.
