A member of the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), he has been active in local politics since 2002, previously serving as a representative and deputy mayor for the Ostrava-Jih district. He holds a degree in demography and social geography from the University of Ostrava. Before his election as mayor in April 2023, he was a successful entrepreneur and co-owner of a real estate firm. He is married and resides in the Hrabůvka district of Ostrava.
