Jared Polis

Jared Polis is an American politician, entrepreneur, and philanthropist serving as the 43rd Governor of Colorado since 2019. Before his governorship, he represented Colorado's 2nd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2009 to 2019 and served on the Colorado State Board of Education. A successful businessman who co-founded several internet companies, Polis is known for his progressive and libertarian-leaning political views, particularly regarding cannabis legalization, civil liberties, and economic policy. He holds the distinction of being the first openly gay man elected governor of a U.S. state.
