Jay Costa

Jay Costa is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 43rd District since 1996. A member of the Democratic Party, he has held the position of Minority Floor Leader since 2010. Before his legislative career, Costa worked as a Deputy Sheriff of Allegheny County. He holds an A.S. in Criminology from the Community College of Allegheny County, a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on issues such as healthcare costs for seniors and has maintained a supportive stance on abortion rights.
