Jeff Rooker is a British politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2001. Previously, he was the Member of Parliament for Birmingham Perry Barr from 1974 to 2001, during which time he gained national prominence for the Rooker-Wise Amendment on personal tax allowances. Throughout his career, he held several ministerial positions, including Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and Minister of State for Sustainable Food, Farming and Animal Health. He also served as the chair of the Food Standards Agency from 2009 to 2013.
