Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz

Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz is an American politician and human rights attorney serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 17th district. First elected in 2018, she is the second Chinese American to serve in the Illinois General Assembly. In her legislative role, she chairs the Immigration & Human Rights committee and the Judiciary - Civil committee. Her legislative work has focused on social justice and education, including the successful introduction of bills requiring the study of Asian-American history in Illinois schools and promoting public awareness of immigrant rights.
