Jens Dietrich is a German politician and member of the Landtag of Thuringia, representing the Alternative for Germany (AfD). Born in Berlin-Charlottenburg, he holds a doctorate in natural sciences from the Justus Liebig University Giessen. Before his full-time political career, he worked as an IT system consultant and served as a managing director in the international IT wholesale sector. Dietrich has been active in local politics in the Ilm-Kreis district and Ilmenau since 2019, where he serves as the AfD faction leader in the district council and city council. He joined the state parliament in 2023 and was re-elected in 2024.
