Gerrit Huy

Gerrit Huy is a German politician and former business executive who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2021. Born in Braunschweig in 1953, she studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Before entering politics, she held a prominent career in the corporate sector, notably serving as the first female member of the board of directors at Daimler-Benz. Huy joined the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in 2017, citing her opposition to the federal government's liberal refugee policies. She has been a subject of public debate regarding her attendance at a 2023 meeting in Potsdam, though she has maintained that she was unaware of the specific nature of the discussions held there.
