Jeong Eun-kyeong is a South Korean physician, epidemiologist, and public health expert serving as the Minister of Health and Welfare. She previously made history as the first commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) from 2020 to 2022 and as the first female head of its predecessor, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), leading South Korea's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and earning international recognition for her public health leadership.
