Jerry Govan Jr. is an American politician currently serving as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 93. He previously represented the 95th District in the same chamber from 1992 to 2022 and served as the chair of the South Carolina Legislative Black Caucus. After an unsuccessful bid for state secretary of education in 2022, Govan returned to the state legislature in 2024 by winning the election for District 93. Throughout his career, he has been a consistent advocate for Democratic policies and served as an at-large delegate to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
