Jesús Suárez Chourio

Jesús Suárez Chourio is a Venezuelan politician and General in Chief in the active reserve. A former commander of the Bolivarian Army and Chief of the General Staff of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, he has been a prominent figure within the government of Nicolás Maduro. He currently serves as a deputy in the National Assembly of Venezuela for the 2021-2025 term, representing the state of Apure. Throughout his career, he has faced international sanctions from several countries, including the United States, the European Union, and Switzerland, due to his involvement in government actions and allegations regarding human rights and democratic processes.
