Jim Tomes

Jim Tomes is an American politician serving as a member of the Indiana Senate, representing District 49 since 2010. A staunch conservative, he is a founder and director of the 2nd Amendment Patriots, a grassroots organization dedicated to protecting gun rights. Throughout his legislative career, Tomes has advocated for limited government, right-to-life policies, and parental rights regarding vaccine exemptions. Notably, he broke with his own party leadership to oppose Indiana's 2012 right-to-work legislation. Before entering politics, he worked for 33 years as a trucker and served as a union steward.
