Scott Dibble is an American politician serving as a member of the Minnesota Senate since 2003, representing District 61. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, he previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2001 to 2003. Dibble is recognized as the first openly gay man elected to the Minnesota Legislature. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent advocate for LGBT rights, environmental sustainability, and transportation reform, notably authoring legislation to legalize same-sex marriage in Minnesota and establishing stringent energy efficiency standards.
