Diana DeGette

Diana DeGette is an American lawyer and politician who has served as the U.S. Representative for Colorado's 1st congressional district since 1997. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1993 to 1996. Throughout her tenure in Congress, she has been a prominent advocate for healthcare reform, stem cell research, and reproductive rights, serving as co-chair of the Pro-Choice Caucus and the Congressional Diabetes Caucus. DeGette is recognized as the dean of Colorado's congressional delegation and has held various leadership roles, including Chief Deputy Whip.
