Jim Wooten

James Earl Wooten is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing the 59th district. Born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1941, Wooten previously worked as an Arkansas State Police trooper, served as the director of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, and founded a chain of convenience stores. Since entering the legislature in 2019, he has been a notable critic of the Arkansas LEARNS Act, a position that remains a central issue in his political career.
