Joan Fitzgerald is an American politician and retired educator serving as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for the 46th district since 2025. Before entering state-level politics, she worked for 33 years as a high school mathematics teacher and served on the Jefferson County Board of Supervisors from 2019 to 2025. A resident of Fort Atkinson, she is a founding member of the Whitewater Area Chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America. She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater.
