Joan Walmsley, Baroness Walmsley is a British Liberal Democrat politician and a life peer in the House of Lords. Educated at Liverpool University, she began her career as a cytologist and later worked in public relations. Since her appointment as a life peer in 2000, she has served as a prominent party spokesperson on education and home affairs, and previously held the position of co-deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords.
