He made history as the first Labour MP for the constituency, ending a century-long streak of Conservative representation. Prior to his election, Morris worked as a parliamentary assistant and held roles in public affairs, including at Hanbury Strategy and Make UK. He previously served as a parliamentary private secretary in the Department of Health and Social Care until his resignation in May 2026.
