John Finucane

John Finucane is an Irish politician and solicitor serving as the Member of Parliament for Belfast North since 2019. A member of Sinn Féin, he is the first Irish nationalist to hold this constituency seat. Prior to his parliamentary career, he served as a Belfast City Councillor and as the Lord Mayor of Belfast in 2019. Finucane is known for his legal background and his commitment to representing all communities in Belfast, despite facing security threats. Following his party's policy of abstentionism, he does not take his seat in the Westminster Parliament. He is also an active sportsman, serving as the captain of his local Gaelic Athletic Association club.
