John Mason

John Mason is a Scottish politician who served as the Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Shettleston from 2011 to 2026. Previously, he served as the Member of Parliament for Glasgow East from 2008 to 2010 and as a Glasgow City Councillor from 1998 to 2008. Originally an accountant, Mason is known for his conservative Christian views, which have frequently placed him at odds with his former party, the Scottish National Party. He has faced significant public controversy regarding his stances on abortion, LGBT rights, and his comments on international conflicts, eventually leading to his expulsion from the SNP in 2024.
