John McGuinness

John McGuinness is an Irish politician who has served as a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Carlow–Kilkenny constituency since 1997. Currently serving as Leas-Cheann Comhairle of the 34th Dáil since February 2025, he has held various leadership roles, including Chair of the Public Accounts Committee and the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform. Previously, he served as a Minister of State from 2007 to 2009. A former Mayor of Kilkenny, McGuinness is known for his focus on constituency advocacy and financial oversight.
