A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as the Director of National Intelligence from 2020 to 2021 and as a U.S. Representative for Texas's fourth congressional district from 2015 to 2020. Earlier in his career, he was the mayor of Heath, Texas, and worked as a U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas. Known for his staunch support of Donald Trump, Ratcliffe has held various roles in national security and legal practice throughout his career.
