John Read

John Oliver Read is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 112th District. First elected to the state legislature in 1992, he has maintained a long-standing career in public service. Prior to his tenure in the House, Read served as a councilman and as the mayor of Gautier, Mississippi. Originally a member of the Democratic Party, he switched his political affiliation to the Republican Party in 2003. His current term in the Mississippi House of Representatives is scheduled to conclude in January 2028.
