John Shipley, Baron Shipley

John Shipley, Baron Shipley is a British politician and life peer who has served in the House of Lords since 2010. A member of the Liberal Democrats, he previously held a significant career in local government, serving as a councillor for Newcastle City Council from 1975 and as its leader between 2006 and 2010. He was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1995 for his public service. Since entering Parliament, he has served on the Liberal Democrat frontbench, including roles as a party spokesperson.
