Wera Hobhouse is a British-German politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bath since 2017. Born in Hanover, Germany, she moved to the United Kingdom in 1990 and later naturalized as a British citizen. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as a teacher, radio journalist, and artist, and served as a councillor on Rochdale Council. In Parliament, she has been a prominent advocate for environmental policy, including the Climate and Nature Bill, and has championed legislation against sexual harassment and upskirting. She currently serves on the Energy Security and Net Zero Select Committee and as a member of the Speaker's Panel of chairs.
