Sammy Wilson is a British politician serving as the Member of Parliament for East Antrim since 2005 and as the Chief Whip of the Democratic Unionist Party in the House of Commons since 2019. A long-standing figure in Northern Irish politics, he previously served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Belfast East and East Antrim, and twice held the office of Lord Mayor of Belfast. Throughout his career, Wilson has been a prominent advocate for unionist causes and has held various ministerial roles in the Northern Ireland Executive, including Minister of Finance and Personnel and Minister of the Environment. He is known for his vocal opposition to the Good Friday Agreement and his skepticism regarding the scientific consensus on man-made climate change.
