Gordon Lyons

Gordon Lyons is a Northern Irish unionist politician serving as the Minister for Communities since 2024 and as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly for East Antrim since 2015. A member of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), he previously held cabinet roles including Minister for the Economy and Minister of Agriculture, Environment, and Rural Affairs. Throughout his career, Lyons has been a prominent figure within the DUP, serving as the party's Director of Elections and as a spokesperson on finance and public service reform. In 2025, he faced significant political pressure and a motion of no confidence from the Assembly's Communities Committee following his handling of information regarding the relocation of individuals during civil disturbances.
