José Vielma Mora

José Vielma Mora is a Venezuelan politician, lawyer, and former military officer currently serving as a member of the National Assembly. A former participant in the 1992 coup attempt led by Hugo Chávez, he later held significant government roles, including Superintendent of the National Tax Administration (SENIAT) and Governor of Táchira State from 2013 to 2017. He also served as Minister of Foreign Trade and International Investment. In 2021, he was indicted by U.S. authorities on charges related to money laundering and corruption involving the CLAP food program.
