José Williams

José Williams is a Peruvian politician and retired military officer with conservative political views. He serves as a Member of the Congress of the Republic of Peru, having been elected for the 2021–2026 parliamentary period, and previously held the office of President of the Congress from 2022 to 2023. During his military career, he achieved prominence as the head of the successful Chavín de Huántar hostage rescue operation in 1997 and served as Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces of Peru.
