Josef Váňa is a Czech politician and former professional steeplechase jockey, horse breeder, and trainer. Widely regarded as one of the most iconic figures in horse racing, he achieved eight victories in the prestigious Velká pardubická steeplechase. After a distinguished sporting career, he entered politics and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic in 2024, subsequently defending his seat in the 2025 parliamentary election as a candidate for the ANO 2011 party.
