Joseph C. Hohenstein

Joseph C. Hohenstein is an American politician serving as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for the 177th district since 2019. Born in Philadelphia, he earned a degree in international studies from Earlham College and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota. Before his election, Hohenstein worked as a lawyer, served on the National Amicus Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and taught at the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he established the school's first immigration law clinic. He gained prominence for his legal advocacy, including representing families affected by the 2017 travel ban. Hohenstein continues to reside in Philadelphia with his family.
