Josip Jurčević is a Croatian historian and politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament. Born in 1951 in Studenci, he graduated in history and philosophy from the University of Zagreb in 1975. Throughout his career, he has held various teaching positions and authored numerous books focusing on Croatian history, particularly the World War II and postwar periods. Jurčević is known for his controversial research regarding the Jasenovac concentration camp, which has drawn significant criticism from international historians for its revisionist claims. He previously ran as an independent candidate in the 2009 Croatian presidential election.
