Joy Garratt

Joy Garratt is an American politician and educator currently serving as a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives for the 29th district. Born in Long Beach, California, she pursued a career in education, working as a social studies teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Pasadena, California, as well as teaching English in South Korea. She was elected to the state legislature in 2018 after defeating an incumbent Republican and assumed office in January 2019. Her professional background includes a strong focus on educational leadership and communication.
