Joyanta Basumatary is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of Parliament for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency. He was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2024 Indian general election representing the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL). Prior to his parliamentary role, he served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Sidli constituency in the Assam Legislative Assembly, a position he held since 2021. He remains an active political figure in the state of Assam.
