Julie Gonzales

Julie Gonzales is an American politician serving as a member of the Colorado Senate representing the 34th district since 2018. Born on the San Carlos Apache reservation and raised in South Texas, she graduated from Yale University before working as a community organizer in Denver. A progressive Democrat, Gonzales has championed legislation regarding criminal justice reform, reproductive rights, and immigrant protections, including the repeal of Colorado's death penalty. She previously served as the Senate Majority Whip and remains an active voice in state politics.
