Julie Johnson is an American politician and attorney who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Texas's 32nd congressional district from 2025 to 2027. Previously, she served in the Texas House of Representatives from 2019 to 2025. As an openly lesbian politician, she made history as the first LGBTQ+ member of Congress from a Southern state. Her legislative career included notable advocacy within the Texas Democratic Caucus and committee work on foreign affairs and homeland security before she was succeeded in her congressional seat following a 2026 primary runoff.
