Juris Jakovins

Juris Jakovins is a Latvian politician and medical doctor currently serving as a member of the 14th Saeima. A graduate of the Riga Medical Institute, he has maintained a long-standing career as a family doctor in Valmiera and surrounding parishes, notably managing one of the largest general practitioner practices in Latvia. Before his election to the national parliament in 2022, he served for several years on the Valmiera City and Regional Councils. In 2014, he was recognized for his medical contributions with the national 'Doctor of the Year' award.
