Kanimozhi

Kanimozhi Karunanidhi is an Indian politician, poet, and journalist currently serving as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, representing the Thoothukkudi constituency. A prominent leader within the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), she serves as the party's deputy general secretary and has previously held a seat in the Rajya Sabha. Before entering politics, she worked as a journalist and editor. Kanimozhi is known for her advocacy in women's empowerment, social welfare for marginalized communities, and the promotion of Tamil culture. She was acquitted in the 2G spectrum case in 2017 after a lengthy legal process.
