Kari Nessa Nordtun

Kari Nessa Nordtun is a Norwegian lawyer and politician currently serving as the Minister of Education since 2023. A member of the Labour Party, she previously served as the Mayor of Stavanger from 2019 to 2023, where she led a multi-party coalition. Before entering politics, she practiced law at firms including Sjødin, Meling & Co. and Elden DA, notably representing victims of the 22 July attacks. As Minister of Education, Nordtun has focused on school reforms, including stricter regulations on mobile phone use in classrooms, national school meal initiatives, and efforts to address bullying and social media safety for children.
