Karin Smyth

Karin Marguerite Smyth is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bristol South since 2015. In July 2024, she was appointed Minister of State for Secondary Care within the Department of Health and Social Care. Prior to her parliamentary career, Smyth worked as an NHS manager and served as an office manager for MP Valerie Davey. Throughout her time in office, she has held various frontbench roles, including Shadow Minister for Health and Parliamentary Private Secretary to Keir Starmer. She is also a vocal advocate for healthcare reform and serves as a Co-Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Choice at the End of Life.
