A lawyer by profession, she previously worked for the Finnish Union of Practical Nurses and as an attorney. In addition to her parliamentary duties, she serves as a member of the Kuopio City Council and the North Savo wellbeing services county council. Partanen, who was elected as a vice-chair of the National Coalition Party in 2024, is generally characterized as a center-right politician with a focus on right-leaning economic policies.
