片山大介

Daisuke Katayama is a Japanese politician and former journalist currently serving as a member of the House of Councillors, representing the Hyogo Prefecture constituency. Born in Kasaoka, Okayama, he graduated from Keio University and spent many years working for NHK as a reporter covering police and imperial affairs. He entered politics in 2016 and has since been elected to two terms in the upper house. Katayama is affiliated with Nippon Ishin no Kai and has held various leadership roles within the party, including serving as the representative of the Hyogo Ishin no Kai branch. His policy interests include constitutional reform, defense strengthening, and social issues such as selective separate surnames for married couples.
