A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as the President of the Florida Senate from 2022 to 2024 and held a seat in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010 to 2016. Before her legislative career, she practiced law as a founding partner of the firm Kelly, Passidomo & Alba LLP. Throughout her tenure, she has held various leadership roles, including Senate majority leader and chair of the Senate Rules Committee.
