Katie Wilson

Katie Wilson is an American politician and democratic socialist serving as the 58th Mayor of Seattle since 2026. Before her election, she was a prominent activist and the co-founder and executive director of the Transit Riders Union, where she advocated for public transportation improvements, workers' rights, and progressive tax reform. A graduate of Binghamton High School, she previously worked in construction and boat repair before dedicating her career to community organizing. As mayor, Wilson has focused on housing affordability, homelessness, and environmental policy, while maintaining a platform centered on progressive revenue generation and public transit accessibility.
