Katrin Gensecke is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of Saxony-Anhalt. Born in Erfurt in 1972, she began her career path with teaching studies in 1990 but was unable to pursue the profession due to health reasons. She is a dedicated advocate for inclusion, serving as an inclusion ambassador and working with the German Multiple Sclerosis Society. Gensecke joined the Social Democratic Party (SPD) in 2011 and served as an assessor on the Börde district board from 2012 to 2018. She was elected to the state parliament in 2021 via the party's state list. In recognition of her civic engagement, she was awarded the Medal of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2015.
